How to Make a Classic Club Sandwich
This is the double-decker sandwich known and loved at lunch counters everywhere. It's good for when you have leftover turkey or chicken. And don't be limited by the ingredients here - add whatever else you like between the three slices of bread. Makes four sandwiches.
Step1: Slice the turkey or chicken thinly.
Step2: Toast the white bread.
Step3: Spread the toasted bread lightly with mayonnaise.
Step4: Top four of the slices of toasted bread with Bibb lettuce and 2 oz. turkey.
Step5: Take another four slices of bread and place on top of the turkey, mayonnaise side up.
Step6: Top each of these slices of bread with Bibb lettuce, a slice of tomato, four slices of bacon and some cucumber, if desired.
Step7: Top with another four slices of bread, mayonnaise side down, and cut each sandwich into four triangles.
Step8: Pierce each triangle with a toothpick and serve.
