How to Cook Pork Pork, the meat of pigs, makes a tasty meal containing vitamins and protein. Pork comes in different cuts like roast, chops and ribs. Pork also includes, ham, sausage and bacon. Follow these tips to cook pork in a variety of ways.

Step1: Roast a whole piece of pork in the oven. Place the pork into a roasting pan with a little water in the bottom. Cover and cook. Cooking time depends on cut and size of roast so check a cook book for accurate cooking time.

Step2: Fry pork chops in a frying pan with a bit of oil or water. Cook uncovered until meat is done all the way through. You can add chopped onions or red cabbage to the pan for extra flavor. Pork chops can also be breaded or glazed.

Step3: Boil pork ribs in a pot of water for about an hour to get them tender. Remove them from the pot. Place them on a cooking sheet or barbeque grill. Cover with sauce and cook in the oven or on the barbeque until crispy.

Step4: Bake pork chops in the oven with sauerkraut or red cabbage. Or cook chops with mushrooms or in mushroom soup until well done.

Step8: Fry bacon until crispy. Keep heat low to avoid splattering. Fry sausages until cooked through to the center.
